Full and Half Day Guided Trips

Hugh has fished all levels of tournaments from high school, college, weekend series, and professional events as a co-angler and a pro and can provide insight on how to start a career into professional fishing. These trips are focused more from a learning perspective and not another average guide trip, Hugh prides himself in having a fun and very informative day on the lake. You will learn many techniques and tips on how to catch fish and improve your fishing skills. Learn things like how to read electronics, break down lakes, and learn new techniques. Hugh’s goal with every trip is to have you leave wanting to come back for more. These trips are a fun thing to do outdoors if you are in Houston, The Woodlands, or Conroe area!

A day fishing with a pro will include all lures, rods, and reels (but feel free to bring your own) and will be an instructional trip to learn techniques, seasonal patterns and see all the newest lures and techniques. Clients will need to bring a fishing license appropriate for the body of water, food, and clothing appropriate for the time of year. Look at the calendar below to find my availability. I run a 2023 Phoenix Boats 921 Elite II. This high-end bass boat is rigged with 3 Humminbird Helix fish finders a Lowrance HDS 12 Live, Mega 360, and a Garmin 1022 with Livescope. This boat is pushed by a 2023 Mercury V8 250HP Four Stroke and held in place by two 8 foot Powerpole Blades.

These trips are mainly on Lake Conroe but for an added cost can be on Lake Somerville, Fayette Country Reservoir, or Sam Rayburn Reservoir.

Electronics Setup & Coaching — Your Boat or Mine

The trip will consist of unit settings and page setups. We will go over settings for everything including charts, sonar, down imaging, and side imaging. This includes sonar settings and why, how to find structure and fish, and interpreting images. Once we look at the console fishfinders, we move to the front of the boat for setup and talk about 360 or live imaging, if equipped. You will learn your fishfinders, how to use them efficiently to find spots, and then see how to fish your spots correctly using your fishfinders on your boat.
